              How are transformer cores classified?

The selection of transformer magnetic core material structure form one is to consider the energy transfer, two is to consider the limitations of geometric size, three is to consider the proportion of magnetic core cross-sectional area and window area, in addition to the installation of the transformer, convenience of processing, cost, etc., currently medium and high power usually choose GU shaped magnetic core, this kind of magnetic core is characterized by a large cross-sectional area, magnetic leakage is small, the use of domestic materials, Low cost, but the wire needs hand welding.

1. Lap wound magnetic core

Lap wound core was first used in amorphous alloy distribution transformers. It has the advantages of winding magnetic core, excitation current is small, low no-load loss, and can open the loading and unloading coil, eliminate the shortcomings of the general winding magnetic core, do not need to use special winding machine winding coil, improve production efficiency, coil problems are also easy to replace and maintenance. Existing 3pc oriented silicon steels have been thinned to 0.23mm and 0.27mm, and it is easier to fabricate lap wound magnetic cores with them than with amorphous alloys. Therefore, lap coiling magnetic core may be used in silicon steel power transformers above 500VA, especially in large capacity rectifier power supply and non-outage power supply.

2. Three-dimensional triangular magnetic core

Compared with the planar three-column three-phase magnetic core, the three-dimensional triangular three-phase magnetic core has uniform flux distribution, no local saturation, and good symmetry of excitation current and flux. The problem is that the cross section of each column is very difficult to form close to the circle, the winding average turn length increases, the load loss will also increase. It can be used for large transformers above 30kVA.

3. Orthogonal magnetic core

An orthogonal core is formed by rotating half of the C core by 90 degrees and then joining it together. The inductance of orthogonal magnetic core can be controlled by DC control winding.

Shenzhen YLZ Technology Co., Ltd. specializes in the design and production of various types of high-frequency transformer, low-frequency (pulse, isolation) transformer, inductor coil.
